The S.T.A.R centre was founded by myself, Patrick Hutchinson, to bring knowledge and understanding of the spiritual relm. The idea of a spiritual teaching and resource centre came to me as I was recovering from a very serious and life-changing illness. I underwent a routine operation for a hernia repair when the operation went wrong and oxygen was cut off from my brain. It resulted in catastrophic consequences that I am still suffering from all these years later. The lack of oxygen resulted in part of my brain being damaged that led to “episodes” or “seizures” that ranged from an inability to talk and walk to being fully paralyzed. It took a lot of time to recover to a point where I could live a normal life once again. It was during these long months that I came up with this idea. You see, I love my job, I love being able to serve spirit and give messages to those in need, but during this period of my life, I was unsure if I would ever be able to again. In this time I thought of a new way that I could get my message out there by following a very wise and very old saying – those who can teach. So I decided to create a resource available to all those interested in pursuing knowledge in all things spiritual and teach others based on my beliefs, experiences and all that I have learned being in this field for 30 years plus.
Thankfully, over the years my “episodes” and “seizures” have reduced to a point where I can continue my passion in life and serve spirit the way I always have. However, I still believe that the idea that came to me in those uncertain days were a message from Spirit to expand upon my servitude and try my best to teach others, which I fully intend to do.
